omnivore's dilemma

should be required reading for everyone, simply because the combination of america's food culture and industrial production has created some of the most misguided and occasionally destructive food practices, so much so that the words cheap, good, healthy, and organic no longer mean what we expect when it comes to food usually sold and eaten today.
